Interventional Pain in The Woodlands, TX
Interventional Pain Management is the medical subspecialty that is devoted to the identification and treatment of a patient’s pain generator(s). An example of a pain generator is a painful disc in the spine. The goal of treatment is to reduce or eliminate pain, improve function and quality of life, facilitate return to work, and avoid invasive surgery. Interventional Pain Physicians utilize various injections (nerve blocks) or other minimally invasive procedures as part of the patient’s care. These interventional treatments are not investigational and are all approved by the FDA. Physical therapy is often a very important aspect of treatment for the purpose of reducing pain, restoring function, and educating patients in avoiding a recurrence of their problem.
I treat a wide variety of chronic pain conditions, but my main interest centers on the diagnosis and treatment of spinal pain with a variety of minimally invasive procedures that are considered safe, effective, and state-of-the art by my physician colleagues. Treatment may also include physical therapy, medication, and referral to other physician specialists.
